Why Russia buys food equipment and ingredients

The organiser’s own market page puts the share of imported equipment in Russian food processing at these levels (read 22 October 2026). These are the organiser’s figures, not ours.

Meat, including poultry94%
Fat and oil90%
Sugar81%
Packing and weighing79%
Dairy70%

The same page counts 43,263 food-industry enterprises in Russia, says many types of equipment are exempt from import duty and that duty on component parts is up to 10% of customs value, and notes that small and mid-size plants often buy more affordable, lower-capacity equipment. That last point is the segment many Indian machine makers already serve at home. Check your own product’s duty and certification before you commit; our guide to export from India to Russia covers the steps.

Three ways to take part

01 · Own stand

You exhibit, we prepare it

You book the stand with Expocentre through its online application. We help choose the hall, plan the stand with our build partners, arrange Russian-speaking staff and interpreters, and fill your diary before you land.

02 · Shared India stand

A place in a group

Several Indian companies on one branded stand or group pavilion: one build, shared staff, your own counter and name. A full pavilion needs about ten companies. Ask us whether any Indian export-promotion support applies to your product; we do not assume it does.

03 · Represented

Shown without travelling

You send samples, catalogues and a price list. We show them on our stand, staffed in Russian and English, log every enquiry against your company, follow each one up within ten days, and send you a written report with the qualified leads.

What you send (represented)

  • Samples or a working demo where possible
  • Catalogue and price list (we translate into Russian)
  • Your minimum order, lead time and terms
  • Certificates you already hold

What you get back

  • Every enquiry logged against you
  • Follow-up within ten days
  • Qualified leads, scored
  • A written report after the show

Fees are quoted on request, fixed before we start. Why most stands disappoint, and how to avoid it: why trade fairs “don’t work”.

Visit with meetings booked

For Indian processors, buyers of Russian equipment or anyone scouting the market: walk the show as part of a small delegation, with meetings booked in advance and an interpreter with you.

Visitors register on the organiser’s site with an email address and receive an e-ticket with a barcode, which is exchanged for a badge at the show. The organiser’s MatchMaking service lets registered visitors see the exhibitor list and book appointments before the show. Our part is choosing who is worth meeting, booking the diary, interpreting, and checking the companies before you sign anything.

For Russian buyers: meet Indian suppliers

Tell us the product and volumes. We put verified Indian suppliers in front of you before the show, or bring their samples to it.
