Exporting Indian pharmaceuticals to Russia
Pharmaceuticals are India’s second-largest export to Russia and one of the few categories where Indian supply is already well regarded. The barriers here are regulatory rather than commercial, and they are substantial enough to filter out most newcomers.
What this trade actually requires
Medicines require registration with the Russian regulator before they may be marketed. This is a long, document-heavy process and is not comparable to a conformity declaration for ordinary goods.
Manufacturing site standards and, in many cases, inspection are part of the approval path. Your plant documentation needs to be in order before an application starts, not during it.
A registered local presence is generally required to hold the registration and interact with the regulator on your behalf.
