Importing Russian fertilisers into India
Fertilisers are the largest non-oil Russian export to India. Much of the volume moves through long-established state and large-trader channels, but there is a real mid-market for specialist and blended products where the counterparty question is live.
What this trade actually requires
Fertiliser products are regulated in India and require the applicable approvals and registration before import and sale.
Nutrient content is the product. Independent verification against specification protects the buyer and is standard on serious tonnage.
Port handling, storage and inland movement dominate the landed cost and must be modelled before committing.
