More consignments are stopped over labelling than any other single issue, and it is entirely preventable. We prepare artwork that is checked in Russia, not translated in India and hoped for.
What it covers
All required fields in the required format — composition, quantity, manufacturer, importer, dates, storage, origin, conformity marking where applicable.
Food carries additional nutrition and allergen requirements; other categories carry their own. The exact set follows from classification.
For categories within scope, per-item registered codes. This affects your packing line and cannot be retrofitted at the border, so scope has to be confirmed early.
By someone who deals with Russian retail labelling. The failure mode is a technically accurate translation that does not match the expected regulatory format.
