Because it gives them leverage over you. Changing distributor would then require re-certification, which is expensive enough that most companies simply do not.

No — it depends on the scheme applying to your category. We establish that as part of the eligibility check.
+–What happens if we appoint a distributor later?
Nothing changes. The approval stays with us, and the distributor handles commercial distribution under it.
